‘Mennula' is the Sicilian word for Almond in Sicilian dialect and is a key product of Sicily along with oranges, olives and some wonderful Sicilian wines. You will find the world famous Cantina of ‘Fuedo Arancio' there, their vineyards produce some wonderful champagnes and wines for the worldwide market. Almonds are in abundance especially in the hometown 'Cianciana' of Joe Martorana, Director and Santino Busciglio, Head Chef / Patron. Mennula is Santino's next big venture after two years at 'Number Twelve' in Bloomsbury, London. After sampling many of the dishes I can firmly say I was impressed with the presentation and the esquisite tastes of Sicily. Santino, sei grande! Stay regional with a bottle of Nero d'Avola from the great wine list available. The ambience is cosy, you could say romantic and contemporary in design with white walls and Mennula trees captured on the walls. Ask for a table on the terrace and watch the world go by ..Charlotte Street.
