Who Dares Wins!

Masked 'Special Forces' troops spring from concealed positions and abseil from the trees…. as the smoke clears the guests find themselves surrounded. Meet your instructors; they will train you in a variety of skills before deploying you to rescue a VIP hostage in a blaze of glory and pyrotechnic effects. Having fun the SAS way!

Guests will be welcomed with refreshments before a short introduction and safety briefing. Military coveralls are issued, the guests are formed into ‘tactical’ teams and are then given their ‘Special Mission’ briefing and objective. The teams will move to the training area to enjoy a selection of entertaining and exciting activities.
Example Training Challenges

  • Hunter Crossbows
  • Detonator
  • Commando River Attack
  • Field Lunch
  • Death Slide Escape
  • Booby Trap
  • Killing House/CQB
  • Minefield

As the teams rotate through the activities, the anticipation of the final mission builds the excitement to an almost tangible level. Having honed their individual skills and built up their team camaraderie under the friendly and sympathetic guidance of the instructors, the teams will have developed into a cohesive unit, ready to accept their mission - the hostage rescue.

After the finale, the troops will ‘parade’ for the de-briefing with prizes being awarded to the best troops and teams, both on individual activities as well as overall. There will be special awards and recognition to those who made an outstanding contribution to the event (for whatever reason, and whether or not intentional!).

Training Activity Details

Killing House - Troops working in pairs kick open the door of the killing house, throw in a stun grenade and after the bang charge in, covering each other, to score points by shooting a range of pop-up targets that appear from all sides. Guests use paintball guns and will lose points for shooting ‘friendly’ targets. The killing house may also contain ‘live’ enemy, who fire noisy blanks, to add to the adrenalin rush!

Hunter Crossbows - Light-weight, powerful and deadly. Troops will practice on a variety of targets using a range of weapons, some with telescopic sights for absolute accuracy. Although crossbows are often used to kill sentries silently, the teams may also be issued with explosive tipped bolts, in readiness for the mission.

Detonator - The team discover that the secret plans and components for their detonator, which were parachuted in, have landed over a wide area. Using map co-ordinates and sophisticated detecting equipment they must locate all the necessary equipment, then build and test fire the detonator, in preparation for the final objective.

River Attack - The team have to infiltrate a hostile area, transporting with them a primed I.E.D. (Improvised [and therefore unstable] Explosive Device). Troops will cross a series of obstacles before re-building and racing across a tyrolean traverse (hopefully over water) using fast running pulleys and bosun's chair.

Field Lunch - At the Field H.Q. there is a cooking area for each team. They must build and light a fire before being able to prepare their own delicious fry-up or barbecue lunch.

Death Slide Escape - You have twenty minutes to escape the enemy and avoid capture. The only route available is via a long 'Death slide'. Fitted with harness and helmet, troops must leap from the top of the tower into thin air and then descend the up to 650 ft slide by means of a rapid-descent pulley. Every stage is double checked by expert safety staff. Adrenalin - pure and simple. This buzz will be talked about for the next year.

Booby Trap - Teams must move through a hostile area to collect vital equipment for the mission. As the trap closes, the troops realise that any piece of equipment may be rigged with a booby trap or I.E.D. (improvised explosive device). Detecting the devices may seem hard enough, but trip wires, pressure pads, infra-red detectors and mines linked to loud pyrotechnic devices and alarms ensure that the troops stay on their toes.

Minefield - Teams have to cross a simulated minefield using a variety of equipment, their ingenuity and teamwork. A good exercise in agility and, at times, being physically in contact with, and reliant upon, other team members. Good forward planning is essential, as is concise communication, otherwise teams find themselves stranded half-way and having to return to start again, after a re-think! Those teams that reach the other side in time will find themselves able to earn extra points by undertaking a team challenge.

Abseil - Troops will be fitted with a safety harness, helmet and gloves before ascending the tower (45-60 ft high) attached to a safety line. At the top, with further instruction and a few words of encouragement, each guest will descend the tower by abseiling. They are attached to a safety line at all times, which is controlled by the instructor. This activity provides a real adrenalin buzz and a personal sense of achievement.

Casualty Evacuation - A downed colleague has to be patched up before teams move them to safety using their improvised stretchers.

Helicopter Dust Off (optional) - Guests can either arrive in a fleet of helicopters (budget allowing!!), have a flight in one of these amazing flying machines or have the winning team collected from the rendezvous point before flying into the sunset in a blaze of glory! (Subject to venue restrictions)

Final Mission Details

Hostage Rescue Mission – This is the final mission, and the climax of the day. The teams, bristling with arms, ammo and hardware, enter hostile territory and locate an enemy encampment. After taking out the sentry posts using crossbows, troops move in formation through the Close Quarter Battle area and Killing Alley. With pop-up targets, live enemy, explosive defences and snipers, the team will need their wits about them. They must think clearly under pressure and communicate effectively above the noise. Directing their fire-power to blast the living daylights out of anything that so much as thinks about getting in the way comes in quite handy, too - and its fun! Under cover of smoke they will rescue the hostage from the wreckage. Fast, furious action and constant surprises.
